Mrs Mathema Phozisa Makola completed her Bachelor of Science majoring in Biochemistry and Microbiology. She worked for a short period in the laboratory and developed an interest in Environmental Management while working as a Project Manager in partnership with Anglo Group Properties. To follow her dream she completed both the Honours degree and the Masters of Science degree in Environmental Management at University of South Africa (UNISA)
She has also completed various short courses to sharpen her managerial skills. She has certificates in both Project Management and Business Communication from UNISA’s Centre for Business Management. To sharpen her skills in auditing she obtained a certificate in Environmental Auditing (ISO 14001) from South African Bureau of Standards (SABS). She also has a certificate in Fallout Dust Monitoring from Dust Watch Monitoring Specialists. She has also completed three short courses on HIV/AIDS Care and Counseling from UNISA’s Centre for Applied Psychology.
Mrs Mathema Phozisa Makola has extensive experience in project management and environmental consulting. Her interests are in environmental health, waste management and environmental auditing and is a PhD candidate from 2019. As a member of the Institute of Waste Management of Southern Africa (IWMSA), she has also developed an interest in environmental law and is committed to work towards an efficient world-class system for waste management an environmental management at large.

Dr Thokoe Thabiso Makola is a qualified medical doctor and a Public Health Medicine Specialist and is currently the Programme Manager for the Albertina Sisulu Executive Leadership Programme in Health at the University of Pretoria. He completed his undergraduate medical training, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB), at the University of Cape Town. This was followed by extensive clinical experience working in both the public and private health sectors in South Africa and in the private sector in the United Kingdom. He operated and managed his own medical practice as a general practitioner in Sekhukhune for five years.
